I really zoomed through this book - I read the whole thing in one day. I really liked the main character, and the love interest certainly made for a good ol' fashioned paranormal romance, but I felt like there were some times in the book were thing just didn't seem quite right. The whole idea of being "cold" and then having to go to a coldtown was definitely interesting, but there was just something kind of weird about the time that Tana spent in the coldtown. Overall, however, I found this book highly entertaining, and I would recommend it as a fast-paced, paranormal Halloween read. Welcome to spooky season, guys and gals.

Holly Black turned into one of my favourite authors.. i just need to read every single book she wrote. And I am no kid or teen..this one Was really good too. I read it i 2 days. It is kind of a mix of Anne Rice and modern ya fiction but surely much better than Susan Meyers..

Loved this! The cover (and reviews) initially pulled me in. But the writing is superb and the story line excellent. It pulls you along and you constantly wonder, "How will the tale end??"

I'd call it a guilty read, except it's impossible to feel guilty when the writing is so wonderful.

This book is confusing! It has a decent world building, although it could have been much better, a perfect male character, that could have been better written, a good story and a dull protagonist. The premise is actually interesting but the way everything is resolved it's not. I just lost interest in the middle of the reading, finding myself wanting to skip pages. Overall, I don't think it's really a bad book, I just wasn't interested enough to justify a higher rating.
