I had trouble investing in the characters in the first half of the book until the plot twist clicked everything into place. Very interesting premise. My main critique is that Daphne didn’t feel fully developed for me. I had a hard time understanding who she was outside of
her illness
or what she liked besides having a bunch of stuff from online shopping? The men felt slightly more well rounded but still I wanted to get to know the characters a little more outside of the kind of trauma related perspectives they had.

I definitely want to give this a 4.5

I'm so happy Rebecca Serle's books can still surprise me.

I think this is my second favourite with the order going...
One Italian Summer
Expiration Dates
In Five Years
The Dinner List

But maybe emotionally it might be this one first over OIS.

There were so many passages that made me wish I had a physical copy to highlight.
I think and obviously this is just for me as all my reviews are- that this resonated with me a lot.

I haven't been in as many relationships as the protagonist but the sentiments I understood. While this meant a lot passages didn't apply to me, Serle's book still manage to resonate and bring to the surface these complex and deep emotions that can reveal truths that sometimes stare us in the face. We may just need a book to help us know what we are feeling.

Great summer read for sure for a beach weekend or a getaway.
Something I would recommend to my single girlfriends - even though it feels like I'm the only one left.

Not as good as one Italian summer, but still a pleasant relaxing read. I’ve been reading intense thrillers lately and this was a nice breath of fresh air to take a break from that genre.
