Exceeded my expectations and was a bit funnier to boot. Didn't realize how impertinent and sassy little Junie B. is nor that she would have a Home Alone-esque romp through her empty school. Narrator was great, with vocal inflections and a delivery that just sealed the jokes. Fun and quick - I see why this is a popular series.

These books are absolutely horrible, and have been banned from our house. Junie is a first grader, and is the rudest character I've ever read. My kids never spoke as poorly as she does, even when they were first learning to talk. Junie is an idiot, she's mean, and she's completely disrespectful to everyone. Why someone thought this was a good idea, I'll never know. What happened to good old fart jokes? In this book, its knuckle sandwiches and other violence that is supposed to be funny.

Fantastically styled. Barbara Park's mastery of the child's voice is proving timeless. We will love these books forever.

Pretty cute. The incomplete sentences and incorrectly spelled words drove me a little nuts, but I'm sure that as a read aloud it's great!

Letting my niece rate and review it. This is what she has to say: "It was funny and great! And I like the cover because there is a bow on the B. Lets read the next one now."

Even at 23, this book made me laugh out loud hysterically just as it used to! I remembered so much of this book and loved re-reading it! I can’t find a single flaw, and it helped shape so much of my love of reading in childhood, so it gets 5 stars!

I love, love, love Junie B. Jones!

One of my favorite series as a kid. I devoured these and laughed my face off while I did it. Nobody is as sassy as Junie B. Jones.

I’m not going to rate this book because, well, I’m 27 and reading this to my baby. But, reading this was so much fun and such a trip down memory lane. I hold Junie B. so near and dear to my heart and although my little is but 4 months old I was able to hold her attention by talking in a silly, exuberant child narration.

Is Junie B. a role model for young children? Maybe not, but her fears (for example in this one - the school bus and “meanies with chocolate milk”) are very relatable and a young child doesn’t NEED to be anybody’s role model, they need one to look up to.

I’m excited to read these all again, and to Trygge nonetheless, until she is, one day, reading them on her own!

I remember really liking these books when I was a kid. Re-reading the first book was cool but for obvious reasons (I'm an adult now) it was just okay.
