Man, Junie B. makes me tired. I really hope that I never have a kid like her. Is that a terrible thing to say? But she was pretty fun to read about, and I can really see her appealing to young readers.

Normally I don’t log the books I read with my class but this was a chapter book. And it’s a classic. Had to do it!

I do not understand why so many people like this series. I feel like excessive use of words like stupid and smelly at this age is the same as excessive use of profanity in adult books. Authors use those words to sensationalize or when they lack something to say. I love the Ramona series for trying to describe a fiesty girl.

Loud talker, hyperactivity disorder, no filter, asserts her preferred name, and wants to beat up all the boys in her class. A nightmare of a child and a generational girlboss.

She’s a DIVA

Barbara Park will be missed, but her legacy will live on in the delightfully wacky adventures of Junie B.

It's rare that you find a book written for beginning readers that charms and amuses parents and riles up censors.

This will be a fun book to read to my 5th graders at the beginning of the year.
