This comic was such a wonderful read. The art and writing was so beautiful. When this gets printed as a physcial copy, you betcha i'm buying it.
Side note: one thing i found difficult when reading this was inherent wrongness of the fact that Manny went to serve in the war in Iraq. And the fact that he went through all that trauma, leading to PTSD, i cannot help but think of all the violence and atrocities commited over in Iraq that its people had to go through. It's so often that I get to see the 'American Experience' and being made to sympathise with these people, going into a foreign country and killing in the name of their own country. And for what??
Nevertheless, I did find the family drama aspect, Teo's story and a realistic portrayal of Manny's and Teo's mental illnesses to be something really special that I loved. I suppose war and it's affect is a universal concept (AND FOR WHAT???) and I loved reading it from the perspective of the Avila family.
