All I have to say for this book is laugh out loud! I guess I never really thought about how many scary idioms we use to describe how we are feeling or what we are doing. I liked that the author put even more idioms in the front cover and on the back inside cover. The pictures showed the idiom and the little superhero character, dinosaur or tank said the idiom. The real story is this kid wrote down all the idioms he heard and built himself a suit of armor to protect himself from all of the dangerous things that could happen to you if you aren't careful. They are just forms of expression like I worked my tail off or I froze my butt off but this kid is taking them seriously and taking all the necessary precautions. I laugh about it but kids really can take these expressions seriously. This could actually scare them. By making sure we explain to kids that these don't happen for real they will be more understanding. The illustrations are very entertaining and the facial expressions are hilarious. The pictures are very colorful, detailed and fun. I like the fact each picture is colored in but then has red and purple squiggly lines drawn over top to help accent the colors and shapes. Ages 4-8
