2.5 stars. Doesn’t actually tell you how to find your ikigai. Feels like the author went off track after an initial promising start. There are other better books on this topic, IMHO.

4.5 stars! I liked it. I’m not taking it as a foolproof guideline for how to live my life, of course. And some things are good conceptually but hard to do in the fast-paced, recession, post-pandemic world we live in right now. However, it was a fun read. I enjoyed reading about how the oldest people in Japan live and getting advice on how to slow down and breathe. That last part was an important takeaway for me. Thank you!

A really gentle yet fascinating book all about the art of living longer and more happily.
There are some amazing points in this, some which I’m actively trying to put into practise and into my life. It was really fascinating learning all about the lives of those who live well into their 80’s, 90’s & 100’s and the common things they do that makes their lives reach the flow state of ikigai.
I also felt like there wasn’t any filler in this - every page was really interesting and filled with all sorts you can take into your life.
