I loved the experimental and unique format of the book and each of the chapters was engaging in its own way. It clearly took a lot of skill to produce. I only wish I'd felt a greater connection to the characters.

Ironically, the beginning of this book was my favourite. The middle got confusing but those last two chapters saved it for me.

My favourite chapter? Section? Was the one with the university professor and the telephones. Calvino has a knack for writing delightfully neurotic characters.

Overall, I want more. I want an ending to all those beginnings. I’m hoping some freak on AO3 has written them for me.

My first Calvino! I absolutely loved it! I originally picked it up because it was listed on a list of "Must-Read" books that I found on the internet. It's an inventive book that turns the usual reader-book relationship on its head.

This is the most inventive books I've ever read- a must read for those who are into extremely experimental literature. Italo Calvino is my biggest find this year
