What an incredible and wonderful story! It is not a quick read by any means! I think it might be impossible for this to be a quick read but perhaps that’s just me. I did juggle amongst some other books I was also reading. The writing was just so…RICH! It’s like when you’re full, but you keep eating the delicious cheesecake even though you can’t even manage to swallow another bite or close your mouth even. It is so beautifully written with so much detail, history, and luxury! I couldn’t read more than a couple chapters at a time. Also, Do NOT read this hungry. You’ll be starving every couple of chapters for a love ossobuco with the most perfect red wine pairing. And the ending! Ah! *chefs kiss*
I switched between the audible and physical reading and neither choice is wrong. The narrator is such a good story teller, it was as if I was being wrapped in a blanket being read a story on Christmas Eve night! Just read it! Don’t rush! Maybe listen to the nutcracker in the background with a fire going. So good!

Unfortunately overhyped, which is a real shame. I find Amor Towles to be overhyped for me in general? Maybe he’s just not for me. Appreciated, didn’t love

I struggled so hard to finish this book. I'm glad I kept reading because it got better but I was not very interested.
