It's good and it has a lot going for it--the underdog story and feats of great daring and Greek gods and godesses and a sweet animal story. It just didn't distinguish itself as an exceptional title.

This is a sweet little book, but it's a very little book--200 pages, big print, wide margins. It's not a beginning chapter book, but I would say it's the next step up. Like The Magical Animal Adoption Agency or whatever it's called (series something like that by Kallie George), this is very charming, but I ultimately liked it less than the adorable Magical Animal books or the absolutely adorable, Flare. There seems less heart in it, and I can't imagine wanting to read any future episodes-Pippa is kind of meh. I'm also kind of mad at the ending, which is fine but not what I wanted--not the author's fault, that's just me!

Read this with Cecily and enjoyed it just as much as she did! Got to love a good mythological horse story.

I just finished this lovely little book with my five year old, who grabbed it from the library as soon as she saw the winged horse on the cover. Although fairly basic in premise/execution, it was a nice way to gently introduce her to Greek mythology and highlighted the importance of love in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

While I’m not sure that this one will stay with her as long as some of the others we’ve read together (and is not one of the middle grade classics that provide a complex, thoughtful reading experience for all ages) I’d definitely recommend it to any other young girls who are as caught up in the unicorn/horse phase as my daughter.

Anything that bolsters a growing love of fantasy is a win in my book - and Pippa was a thoroughly charming protagonist. Solid 3.5 stars.

Cute story. I always liked Pegasus and Unicorns, so it was fun to read about them. Can’t wait to read the next book and find out who Pippa is

This book was short and simple.  Even so, I didn't see the ending coming.  A nice surprise.  I would have liked to have had the children's characters a little more fleshed out.  This was a book about found family, horses, Greek gods and goddesses.  Recommend for younger girls.

Cute enough book I'd recommend for ages 10 or so and up.

It feels a bit like Percy Jackson mixed up with horse fiction book. There are the gods and some myths, but there's also cute and scary horses who are supposed to fly a race. It worked decently enough, but at times it didn't manage to hit either perfectly. I liked the plots of Riordan way better and I also enjoyed the horses in The Black Stallion" more...

What I like is the slightly lower entrance point into mythology, as the book is less complex or violent that the Percy series.
