I consumed this book! It became my entire afternoon and evening!! But GOOD LORD!!! EMBRY!!!! Sweet bean!!!! I just.... this tortured soul is just everything one could want ;) And so many want!!! But his history with Ash and the present between him and Ash and Greer ... CHEFS FUCKING KISS!!!! Honestly the way this entire book is written is just delightful!! But holy... shall we buckle up for the pain train?! I think so.... But I love this world and I love these characters.... especially the little prince <3

F*CKKKK I AM BROKEN !!! The number of times I wanted to punch both greer and ash cos I feel so bad for embry! Also, Ash is all jealous of embry and greer when u AGREED that the 3 of u should be together. Like I am so annoyed and embry I just feel so bad for him. All his life, he tried to make decisions where he thought it was to protect ash or greer even when his heart was breaking in the inside.

Lots of plot that’s not very good. Twists/secrets that are kind of unsatisfying. But I do like a broken main character making terrible decisions

President Maxen Ashley Colchester, First Lady Greer Galloway, Vice President Embry Moore. 
Oh what a rollercoaster ride this was! The spice was spicing. But the plot revelations were crazy! Chapter 27, the last 20 pages, really went off the rails! I love this trilogy and can’t wait to read the 3rd book. Took off .5 stars for the secret baby reveal. And for Abilene’s pregnancy. I hate those tropes!!!

I want soooo badly for this series to work for me. I absolutely hate that it doesn’t work for me. I’m going to read the last book because I need to know how it ends, and hope that things really change.

A lot doesn’t make sense to me. The biggest is these men who are smart enough to run the country but stupid enough to not communicate. All the lying, lying by omission, claiming to love someone but keeping secrets that would savagely hurt the other person, etc.

Also I’m going to harp on the Jenny plot line some more.. Why? Why is this a plot in the story? Isn’t their enough going on without him marrying someone for 7 fucking years? I don’t get it. Honestly this book infuriates me.. which is why I’m giving it 3 stars instead of two.. because it has pulled some serious emotions out of me,just not the emotions I would expect to have for a romance.

Here is to hoping things get a thousand times better and come together neatly wrapped in a very pretty bow to turn this series around for me.
