I was sure that I’d already read this when I settled down to the audiobook version today but it appears I hadn’t as the story wasn’t familiar. I wish it had been longer and not showed it’s hand so early on as I felt I could have really loved this one. Not least as I live in Brighton and so the descriptions of the downs and local places such as the infirmary were all very familiar to me.

Short and sweet anyway, and nice characters to spend a little time with on the Brighton road.

Kind of boring, if I have to be honest. Nothing that interesting happens in the whole story.

This is the last story in the collection 'Roald Dahl's Book of Ghost Stories' left to review. I think it's about 10 pages or so. It's another ghost story. The language, again, is archaic.

This is about a man walking on a road to London and he's having a conversation with this young boy who has been on his own. There really isn't much to say about this story. Not my favorite or least favorite. Down on the list of the stories.

Overall, I think this collection was worth reading and I enjoy reading it during Spooky season. I do recommend the collection for people who enjoy short stories and older stories. There is nothing modern about this.
