Damn! That was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish! This episode was filled with so much action, it was almost hard to keep up with all of it. But it's really exciting to see the story unfold, to watch Amel grow, to see how the relationship between her and Raolcan makes so much of a difference that it can break and change the course of things.

I love how Amel is growing more confident with each book. She's trusting Raolcan blindly, understanding his way of communication, knowing what he means and what he doesn't mean. And I love his blind devotion to her, seeing something in her that others don't see at first glance, but learn to see when they're forced to spend more time with her.

It feels like we've entered the finale of this series and I can't wait to see how it unfolds. We have a lot of players, we have a lot of camps, but the final fight is coming closer and closer, I feel it with every page I read.

And although I'm really looking forward to read the ending, the last books, where this is all going and the pieces of the puzzles click, I will also be very said when this amazing experience is over.

The title delivers on the story. This is one of the toughest battles they have faced yet, and that is saying something. The tension leading up to the battle was superb.
With traitors at every side, Amel needs every ally she can get. Hurbic finally pulled through, but not before Amel did two more things that someone is going to be mad about. Maybe even enough to kill her. She needs adult supervision and Raolcan doesn't count.
I loved the scene where Iskaris was trying to get the messages from her, and she was all flabbergasted, then Raolcan reminded her the rules said no one but the recipient of the messages should read them. She doesn't care about the rules so much she forgot they are even a thing. xD
I absolutely love how Savette's magical powers work on truth. If you have recommendations for another series where the magic is powered by truth, please send them my way.
Savette is making a surprising in run on the favorite character list after this episode.
I noticed that the bad guy's name is similar to Icarus (it's Iskaris). Likely a coincidence, but I like to notice those kinds of things just in case.
Amel is now the one I have to be worried about. There is enough episodes left that I am fairly certain she isn't going to die, but how will she survive?

Dark days ahead

This series is giving me heart palpitations! And yet, it's so exciting... Not knowing who to trust, a friend from foe... Where to go, I couldn't put this down!

The tenth book in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School series, and my addiction is as strong as ever. I’ve said since the start that I am not a big fan of serial series, and yet this one continues to hold my attention. My love of dragons ensured I would be entertained by this one, and yet that alone was not enough to explain the level of love I have for this series.

Dragon School: First Flight, book one, sucked me completely into the world – it was so much more than I’d expected, and I couldn’t wait to get more. Dragon School: Initiate, book two, sucked me in even deeper – it showed me there was more to the story than I’d originally thought, ensuring I would pick up the next. Dragon School: The Dark Prince, book three, was a very important book in the series – it may not have been my favourite book, but it was vital to the overall story. Dragon School: The Ruby Isles, book four, continues to move things forward in a wonderful way – it may not be my favourite of the stories, but it is another important addition. Dragon School: Sword, book five, was another brilliant read, adding more to the series – it was also the book that reminded me why I was following the series in the first place, pulling me back in after a short hiatus. Dragon School: Dusk Covenant, book six, added plenty of new twists – more than enough to ensure I remained ensnared with the story. Dragon School: First Message, book seven, brought even more to the table – more was added to the storyline, plenty of things leaving me curious as to what would come next. Dragon School: Warring Promises, book eight, left on a serious cliff-hanger – all the books leave on a cliff-hanger, but this was probably the biggest of them all. Dragon School: Prince of Dragons, book nine, was probably my least favourite of the series, but it continued to move things forward for us.

Dragon School: Dark Night took us back to the level of intensity that had me obsessing over the prior books, taking us back to the good stuff. As with all the books in the series, Dragon School: Dark Night was a quick read, one with plenty to keep you hooked throughout. We have plenty of action and drama, new things are revealed, and the world continues to develop. In fact, it brings all the goodies to the fore in abundance, making this one of my favourite books in the series.

I think what made this one of my favourites thus far is the things that have been opened up for the next book. All of the books have developed the world in a wonderful way, yet this one promises us so much of what I want. In other words, we’re about to get a lot more dragons. This book had plenty of dragon action – I love a good dragon fighting scene – but the next book promises us the side of the world that is all about the dragons I adore so much.

So yeah, I have big hopes for the next book in the series.

Book Review
Title: Dark Night (Dragon School #10)
Author: Sarah K. L. Wilson
Genre: YA/Fantasy
Rating: *****
Review: After the dramatic ending of Prince of Dragons, I couldn’t believe I was already halfway through the series. Dark Night opens with the injured Dominar being brought into the mountain along with his personal guards before they lock themselves inside. Much like Hubric, the Dominar is suffering from an infection and Ashana has to remove the infected part of the arm to save his life but Amel suspects Iskaris of being the snake inside the Dominar’s court and Savette confirms this by telling Amel she believes he is working with the Ifrits and he wants Amel’s messages. Luckily, Hubric wakes up here and plays a game of cards with Ashana and it seems like they are playing a losing hand given their current situation and they have no way out at the moment as Savette isn’t strong enough to deal with the multiplying number of Ifrits outside.
Despite his best efforts Iskaris doesn’t get the messages and the riders are looking for a way out of the mountain that doesn’t involve surrendering to the Dusk Covenant. Iskaris believes this what the Dominar meant when he uttered the word mercy but I believe it related to a prophecy involving Savette and the Dominar. Raolcan also informs her they are close to the dragon warrens which run under the earth and will give them an escape route even though the Ifrits can follow them, they might just have a chance. Together Raolcan and Amel come up with a plan to escape and for the first time we see Raolcan truly use his power as the Dragon Prince but getting the Dominar out without getting killed or caught is going to be a major problem for Amel to overcome.
The escape through the warrens is going well as they send the refugees off to the dragon lands using a portal created with dragon magic but they are quickly overrun by Ifrits meaning the dragon riders including Amel, Raolcan and the Dominar have to make a retreat but they are led into a trap. Raolcan manages to get them to the next checkpoint but Savette has exhausted her power and can’t activate the portal meaning they are stuck. That is until Hubric comes up with the idea to lend Savette his and Amel’s minds in order to rejuvenate her power and get them out of the warrens before it is too late. This doesn’t go to plan as the dragons need to fight the Ifrits to give their riders a chance to escape with the Dominar when they are accidently hit with a tail that gravely injured Amel and knocks them all from the circle. By the time they get back in and activate it, they are scattered and the only thing Raolcan can do right now is fly to the Lands of Haz’drazen and seek help. Overall, Dark Night was brilliant, exciting, and tense. I am really excited for Bright Hopes and figuring out all over again where the Dominar is and if he is safe.

Why is everyone so accommodating of Savette just because she has power and the "Chosen One"? It pisses me off. Most of the time, they dismiss Amel outright and it pisses me off. I know Amel has issues to resolve with herself but, come on, give her a little credit. I'm happy that Raolcan is there for her.
