The sad thing about this one is that it simply wasn't a ble to hold my interest. Or, to be fair, I wasn't able to hold an interest in it. It might be my fault. I couldn't follow the plot and stuff seemed to happen for no reason.

I'm goin to lay it aside and re-read it at a later stage, so it's rating may go up.

this one was rich in detail, and with a female character ery well depicted so as to be quite desirable - a difficult thing to achieve now that I ave become old and cynical - and two engaging characters in Robert the orester's son and Yves the teenaged boy.

The A story was quite believable, but the B story or murder mystery strained credulity a bit and was, ultimately, pretty easy to solve.

Worth the read, particularly as it took me two tries to get it done, which may speak to how engaging it is, I suppose, but at the risk of putting too many commas in this sentence, I'll just say that it's not a four star effort. It has perusuaded me to watch the TV series again, though.
