Before we go to the zoo and explore the CANADA WILDERNESS section, Neo wanted to read this story that explores Canada's National Animal (stop guffawing in the back). The beaver once had a lovely, silky tail. He loved showing it off to others, but no other animal seemed to be so vain. While trying to get a glimpse of his lovely tail, Beaver fells a tree that lands on it. Unable to get free, he tugs himself out, only to lose all that luscious hair. Left with a flat, bare tail, Beaver is forlorn, and goes about building himself a dam. When Spring comes, Beaver's friends return to see that his hard work has not only helped them, but his new tail is much more useful. Neo loved the story and hopes to see some beavers today. Not sure we have any in captivity, but we'll look and see how nice that tail might be. If not... maybe we can eat one (search it out, it is a pastry, not some savage Canadian delicacy!).
