Such a satisfying ending where Callie became “someone’s nightmare”
I love Laura Thalassa books and find her writing style so well done! Her characters have amazing arcs, the plot is well done, the world fantastic, and everything in between makes her books amazing!
I adore reading her novels and loved how Callie and Des finished the thief of souls once and for all. Their relationship is fantastically done and has ups and downs as all relationships do.
She ended the series so amazingly.

This was kind of a disappointing conclusion to the series. I was really interested to see what was going to happen after all that Callie endured at the end of the last book. Nothing really played out exactly as I was expecting and it wasn’t in a great way.
The pacing felt off in this book. Certain situations felt very dragged out (especially in the middle, when Des and Callie visited Earth again, there wasn’t much furthering of the plot, it was just there. Maybe other readers would enjoy that, but I wasn’t feeling any connection to the characters, so that felt like a slog to get through).
We do finally get to understand what was going on with all of the missing Fae, which I appreciated because it did feel like an after thought in previous books. Personally, I did not like what was actually happening. Just the reasoning behind the Thief of Souls actions felt really awful and gross and I just personally did not enjoy reading the climax of the book because I was feeling a little uncomfortable, especially knowing Callie’s past. I get that he was the bad guy and he was despicable, but it went too far for my taste.
I just found myself losing interest while I read this book. I don’t think I’ll reread the series in the future.

This book was 97% sex scenes. The plot itself and the big villains were ridiculous. Callie and Des hasn’t been right since the first book. I’m sad this series took a bad turn, I truly enjoyed it first.
