I'm not a person of colour (nor American), so SLAY was very eye-opening for me (I'm assuming this is an accurate representation of how it is for people of colour in the US). Overall, I think it was a good story, but it was painfully obvious that the author knows nothing about game development, which made that part of the book very unrealistic.
I personally didn't really like the narrator's performance (for Kiera's chapters).
