I wish Rowell explained more things in this one, like it’s barely touched on how Baz’s future will look and Simon as a whole. It felt unfinished, like there was supposed to be more. Even just a novella to tie things off. Also Wayward Son is so skipped over the only tie to it is Shepherd. Agatha should have been way more developed too.

I don't have much to say about this book, which is awkward since it's 579 pages long, so I should have an opinion, but it was incredibly average. The writing was not good, the relationships were not good, the pacing was not good. It happened. There were a couple of fun moments, but overall, meh.

And that’s it. There’s the trilogy, done. 2 and 3 weren’t quite as magical as the first one was for me, but 100% they did not ruin it. They gave them a life, context, a reality I wouldn’t have expected. I would’ve thought at the end of carry on it was all worked out, in an unsettled way you can accept, but now it really is worked out. All ends tied up. It was good. I’m happy with it. The whole trilogy is special to me now. I’m even getting used to the illustrations (I’m team original carry on cover with no faces) (also accidentally seeing the illustration in the back cover spoiled several plot lines, but that’s okay)
