letters to strangers that are, at the core, thin slices of their own autobiographies

Charming book of essays that capture the heartwarming and sometimes fateful aspects of humanity. While at times the stories felt repetitive or the voices felt the same, there was still an interesting aspect to each of these situations. I also appreciate that we got to the travel the globe while reading.

Full review coming soon - my first impression/reaction would be this: what a beautiful collection of essays/letters. The intimacy of the epistolary form shines, allows us to get to know these strangers even though the authors themselves may have known little to nothing about them. Brilliant concept and execution.

Wonderful concept. Some letters are executed better than others.

this was such a great anthology. reflecting on people who have changed our lives while barely knowing each other's names was such a cool concept, and i thoroughly enjoyed the stories that were shared.

I loved the concept of this book. I never thought about it before but in the introduction, the author says we spend the same amount (if not more) of time with strangers and with people we love. Hearing stories from people's lives that they remember and have learned from and all of that is really interesting to me. It took me a while to get through it because life got a little busy but I really liked it. For people who like this kind of book I recommend it for sure!
