Lots of fun and adventure as Collette convinces her brother and best friend to slay the Baby-Foot-eating Giant. They overcome three tasks on their adventure with their concerned followers and coerced villagers following behind them. Collette finds more than she bargained for on this adventure.

Super cute and enjoyable, with a downright feisty and unconventional female heroine. This book contains a lot of laugh-out-loud funny moments, fun plot twists, and a variety of vivid and wonderful characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Another Powell's find for my son that blew me out of the water. I wish all book stores and libraries took such care with shelf talkers!

I enjoyed this celebration of different strengths, plus the independence of children with strong parental support. I look forward to finding out all that's going on behind the scenes in this village!

That was one funny fun thrill ride! The artwork was brilliant and the story was solid. The power of friendship and taking chances. Loved it! Pair this with Into The Volcano by Wood and Ghostopolis by TenNapel.

I thought this was really cute. I always complain about graphic novels being way too short, but this one didn't feel that way. I got a full story out of a very short book. The characters were good, it had a nice plot, and I liked the art style. No complaints here! It's obviously not very deep and not all that original, but a very nice quick read.

4.5 stars! (My 11 year old son gives it 4 stars.)

What a cute, cute book. Claudette (who reminds me somewhat of the girl in the Pixar movie Brave) seeks fame and fortune, and she figures the best route to achieve that is by killing the giant that eats the feet of babies. She enlists her brother Gaston as well as her good friend Marie, and all three plus Valiant, the dog, set forth on their adventure...although only Claudette knows the true nature of their journey.

I love the artwork--strong lines, great expressions, wonderful use of color and shading. I'm also a fan of these fantasy, medieval style settings. Even better, the main character is a feisty red-headed little girl who sticks up for her brother, defends the dreams of her friend, and is afraid of nothing or no one. I was meant to truly enjoy this, I guess.

It's sweet, it's funny, it's engaging and entertaining. I just hope there will be more in the future.

A great start to a fun new series! The ensemble cast is all incredibly endearing. Fantastic fun to read with my adventurous six year old!

WARNING to parents who want to read aloud, though: this is a series, and also a Loud story. If you are going to make up voices for all the characters, go easy on the gruff or hard to keep up voices! I've committed Augustine to a growl, and I will live to regret that...
