Sanctuary is a Christian steampunk novel by author Michelle L. Levigne. It is part two of the Guardians of the Time Stream series. This series is set in the 19th-century at the beginning of technology with the steam-powered industry, airships and more; with the excitement of time-travel.

In this second novel, Ess and her brother ULY still have hopes of finding their grandparents alive. Their grandparents are historians and archeologists specializing in ancient civilizations.

A quote that I liked, “The past holds keys to the success and the survival of the present, and the future. It also holds the weapons that could destroy us,” (Kindle location 1619).

I think other readers should give this series a try because it holds a lot of meat, yet is easy to read. It took me about an hour to read each chapter and 4 days to complete the novel. I felt the scene where the Revisionist’s tried to infiltrate the Sanctuary was written particularly well.

I was satisfied with the ending and look forward to reading the next novel in the series.
