England in the Age of Chivalry... And Awful Diseases is a nice introduction to the late medieval period in England. Ed West gives a lively and amusing overview of the period, covering the reigns of Edward II, Edward III, and Richard II, with a glance back at Edward I's reign.
There's also a brief bibliography at the end, and I think that's where the real gold is. I know I'll be using it to read more deeply on the subject.
