What utter chaos?!? I had the best time. It’s the most delightfully unhinged soap opera I’ve ever read. What fun! Pop the bubbles, baby.

Book Rating: 3/5
China Rich Girlfriend was ultimately disappointing in comparison to Kwan's previous book, Crazy Rich Asians. What I loved about the first book was the drama that kept me coming back for more. The problem with the second book is that it was less entertaining. You see text messages, e-mails, magazine articles, and etc written within the book and instead of smartly name dropping designers, you just get bombarded by everything. There is a lot more going on with the characters, and while interesting at times, some parts were just a little lacking and boring because it felt less relatable. Instead of a snippet into the life of the crazy and rich, it felt more like looking at a magazine filled with designer names.

This second book was not nearly as good as the first. I felt disconnected from the story and the characters which was odd because I really enjoyed the first book. I think that it also focused more on characters that I didn't like. I was bored and found myself just wishing it was over. I read the first one in order to see the movie and I dont think that I will read the third one.
