These eleven essays by scientists, philosophers, and writers present a wide divergence of views on the subject of, in essence, what comes after Dawkins and Hitchens and Harris - that is, what is there for the human psyche if god and religion ("enchantment") are dismissed? I found some of the essays almost impossibly difficult to comprehend (even reading every sentence two or three times), and others absolutely brilliant, particularly those by Kitcher, Costa, De Waal, Richards and Stott. I can't really recommend the book as a whole because it is such a tough read, but I will pass on some of the essays as well worthy of contemplation.

This book looks at the question of whether there is wonder/enchantment/moral behavior/joy in human experience that is of non-theological or non-religious source. "Duh!" I say! But I still found it interesting to read the specific responses. I especially enjoyed the essays by Frans de Waal and Rebecca Stott.
