The first silence is just when you finish the book and think about all the pages you read, the plot, the character, the scope. The second silence is catching your breathe from the ending that mostly just made you wish the third book was published and available. The third and final silence is in you trying to figure out where to start actually discussing this book with others...

1000 pages and I lapped it all up. No matter what the scene I find myself just rivetted. Even if things are happening that made me lift my eye brow on one or two occasions.

Entertainment wise, for me, The Wise man's fear is on par with book 1. The world get's expanded, little more of old man Kvothe and Bast get's revealed. Magic and lore is included more, the good and bad sides of it. There is more adventure as about 60% of the book does not take place at the university.

At the end of the book you end up with some answers but a lot more questions which bodes well for the series.

I hate it!! It just ended and I am so mad that there's no book 3 because this was incredible and I need to know how everything ends!! I waited years because this series wasn't finished and that drives me crazy but it kept almost being spoiled so I finally caved and it was wonderful BUT IT JUST STOPS WITHOUT RESOLVING ANYTHING!! If this book and this series wasn't great I wouldn't be this upset but its been like 13 years at this point and there's still no release date.

It's beautiful and the writing is like poetry and sounds incredible read aloud and I love the characters and there's magic and adventure and romance and mystery and yes I recommend this novel.

God what was this book! I love it more than the first one, and the characters are so amazing and captivating (love Kvothe), and I'm so curios to see what's gonna happen within the story and in the present time. Hoppefully Kvothe can make it till the end...

I really like this series. Honestly. I thinks it's different, well rounded, has excellent world building and Kvothe, the main character, is an arrogant, self embellishing egomaniac which is great, better than most self depreciating heroes who bore me tears. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was 200 pages of him ploughing a fairy. Leave out the sex and give me more fighting. Apart from that great and ended on a irritatingly good cliff hanger.

Another 5 star book, but 4.5 stars for not even attempting to have an ending.

I absolutely love this series. I enjoy the poetic style of the writing, including the wordplay and the connections Rothfuss draws between magic, music, and love. Read this in two long sittings across a 36-hour period, and didn't want to put it down. Can't wait for the third book.
