A Love Story Made for the Movies

This was a really cute love story. My favorite part was how everything was compared to a romantic comedy movie.

Lauren Blakely does it again. I tell you, I am not sure how she does it but she continues to put out book after book full of fun, flirty, sexy and smart characters. She has a way of weaving past and future characters into each new book and somehow making each of their stories unique and wonderful. Seriously, one of the best parts of LB's books is catching the, sometimes subtle and sometimes very obvious, nods/shout-outs to her past characters. I mean anytime I can hear more about Clay and Davis you'll see no complaints from me. This book is certainly no different.
I really enjoyed the whole "Hollywood/LA" theme of this story and trying to figure out her versions of real movies, TV shows and Hollywood elite. Her interpretation of the rich and famous and their lifestyles and especially those who follow them was realistic and hilarious at the same time.
You will fall in love with William and his British wit and you'll find yourself wishing that you were Jess, even if only for just one day. Like all of Lauren's books, this story is a perfect blend of romance, comedy, steam and mystery. Be sure to pick up a copy of the prequel A Starstruck Kiss to get the full experience of William and Jess.

I loved this book! Jess is a med student who refuses to take out student loans so she works part time as a paparazzi taking photos of celebrities to pay for school. William, Hot British Guy (HBG), is working for his dirt bag uncle as a private investigator. Jess and William team up and have such amazing chemistry! I really loved both these characters and the dynamics between them! Also, there is an element of mystery and suspense that made this fast-paced story hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone who likes a steamy, sweet, romantic story!

I start all my Lauren Blakely reviews the same. I love her. I love her books. I will read anything and everything she writes. Period. This book was so good! I loved the characters and the writing! William isn't a bad boy with something to prove. He isn't mean, rude, or cruel, and he knows that he likes Jess and he wants her. It was so refreshing! He's sweet, hot, sexy, nice and British. So, what's better than a hot sexy man with an accent? One that speaks fluent, dirty Italian when he's turned on!
William is trying to find a job in the US so he can stay and work and Jess is taking pictures as a papparazzi to pay for medical school. They are an unlikely pair that team up to benefit each other. Along the way, they kiss, flirt and start to fall for each other. Their witty banter is sweet and hilarious and I was sad when the book was over! I wanted more. It was also great seeing some characters from Lauren's other books ( I FLOVE that she does that!) Do not miss this one!

I placed a hand on her shoulder, gripping her lightly and shaking my head. "No, that was not an Italian accent whatsoever," I said to her in Italian, and she furrowed her brow. "But you are so fucking hot even when you try to put on a ridiculous accent that I still want to fuck you. Especially since you look even sexier with that red wig on."

It was the kind of kiss that took over your brain. That made you believe in possibilities, in perfect chemistry.

That's only because you kissed me. Now I know what I'm missing if you say no. Don't say no, Jess. I want to see you again, and I want to kiss you again.

Loved this! Excellent pace, great build, and solid story that was entertaining and sexy! I adore Jess and William, they were great characters.

Jess was strong and determined and had some past issues that still weighed heavily on her. A very relevant issues in today's world and kudos to Lauren Blakey for including something so very real. I loved William, he was so caring, sweet, and totally swoon worthy! I thought their growing friendship and attraction developed at a great pace and I loved every second of it. Jess and William give new meaning to the words “hot kiss.” The build between them was incredible and it lead to some really passionate and steamy times. I enjoyed their ups and downs and adventures. Everything seemed so real and true to me. I loved the fact that Jess and William were just these open and honest people falling in love and trusting.

I enjoyed the secondary characters in this as well, I really liked Jess’s roommate Anika a lot. There were a ton of cross over characters from other Lauren Blakely stories, I won't say who because it's always fun to discover them... but two of my very favorite couples make an appearance. I was thrilled about that.

This was just so FUN to read. There was just the right amount of drama with a bit of mystery thrown in. I absolutely enjoyed all the movie references and the hero/heroine mentions. I had a great time trying to figure out which celebrity might be the one being referenced. It was just this entertaining element that was added that made me like it all even more. As a dog person, I have to say I really liked all the dog interactions as well.

This storyline had all these great twists and turns, just when I thought something might be predictable it wasn’t and I found that really refreshing. Great ending, so very sweet!

Stars In Their Eyes left me with a big ol' smile on my face. I think I have a new favorite Hariggan brother.

I've read a lot of Lauren Blakely books before and was hooked with the series Caught Up In Love and now this spin off series, Wrapped Up In Love, has got me all giddy and excited for the rest of the characters to get their own stories.

This spin off begins with the story of Jess Leighton and Will Harrigan, two college students, both with hopes of fulfilling future dreams. Their story actually starts in A Starstruck Kiss, the prequel. And this ARC I had received included the novella at the beginning, so I'm going to have to review the flow of both. Mind you, A Starstruck Kiss is a must read because it is the introduction to their blooming romance.

Jess is currently saving up money to pay for grad school, and she's working on it by being a papparazzo, snapping pictures of celebrities, young and old, for an agency. This is her only job, and she can't afford to lose it and even slack off. Always on the lookout, she's on alert as to where to find the right celebrity and even has them memorized from flash cards. Yes, that's how serious she is. But the moment she starts sensing competition from the new British hottie, Will Harrigan, who keeps popping up everywhere she tries to do her work, she feels the need to get all territorial.

Will is on the lookout of a permanent job, someone to sponsor his stay in the States in order to shift his soon-to-expire student visa to a working one. And with Jess, he can't stop thinking about his 'American Girl'. All the more reason to stay in L.A. But Jess has no time for a relationship, she's sure she doesn't need or want one, but this British hottie will surely change her mind.
She was lovely. And hot. And feisty. Translation - Everything I liked best.
All of a sudden, his actions get a wee bit suspicious about him being a paparazzo. And then he tells her that he's got connections that can get them into the hottest and biggest celebrity wedding of all time. How can she ever turn that down? If she's going to want to nab those photos, she's going to have to trust him. The prequel ends with a cliffhanger that leads to Stars In Their Eyes.

With all their secrets now open to each other, these two have decided to partner up instead in order for Jess to nab the hottest Hollywood wedding of the year. Two famous celebrities tying the knot and getting dibs on photographs of this event would definitely earn her big bucks and keep her on top of the game.

The budding relationship between Jess and Will is just purely sweet and adorable, because of their display as the typical young adult relationship. They're cute together, sweet together, funny together and most of all, sexy together. Having read the prequel, these two have got me hooked. The chemistry between them is just over the top, because finally, Jess has quit her game of denial towards her feelings for Will.

I have never doubted any of this author's romances. I've always enjoyed the chemistry of her pairings. Jess is a really fun character to read. She's funny, sassy and sarcastic and I could instantly relate to her personality. Definitely the type of girl I would want to be friends with. Meanwhile, Will is just epic. He's the sweetest book boyfriend ever (And the fact that he's British also counts as a major plus).
Kissing her was not optional. It was mandatory, and as necessary as air or breath.
Although, despite having enjoyed the over the top chemistry between these two, I also felt that the plot was kind of a little jumbled up, and the consistency of the story line was a little far off, especially with Jess's supposed mishap that led to a celebrity's downfall. I won't elaborate much because to avoid spoiling the plot twists, but upon reading that particular part, it felt so random and was basically an extra to the story that didn't even seem necessary.

But nonetheless, this was a fun and slightly humorous read that did get me on my toes. I'm really looking forward to the next entry of this series. Oh, and a little tidbit, if you've read other books of Lauren Blakely, quite a number of her characters from the other books are mentioned here.
