Short, sweet, and straightforward! Knowing about the longitude problem provides great context for a number of other texts I’ve read recently.

Most people would think a book about longitude would be about as much fun to read as watching grass grow. They would be wrong. I had no idea how complex the problem of longitude was. I also had never heard of the man who found a way to accurately and quickly determine longitude. Most people are probably in the same boat. And that is a real shame. This is a quick read and will open your eyes to a bit of history that more of us should know about.

Really fun book to spark some interest. Weaves a fantastic yarn about the problem of circumnavigating the globe with a sailing ship.

It was interesting to learn how important longitude was and how complex a problem it was.

This is a fascinating topic but the book got a bit boring. I think it could have been 1/2 as long & still gotten the message across. Still a very interesting topic.
