Sweet Anger by Sandra Brown
Carly works at the local TV station and is a personality on live TV. She's just lost her husband to a truck hitting him.
She learns she is pregnant and she wants Thomas's children to have the house that is rightly theirs. She can continue to
work and a new district attorney, Hunter McKey has come into town telling her that her husband was to be tried for stealing money from accounts.
She searches her house top and bottom to find something that will credit her husband as having nothing to do with the allegations.
She comes to awareness where she's on the couch in a room off the courtroom and she has her hands around his neck wanting more kisses until she realizes that it's Hunter, not Tom at all.
She had suffered a miscarriage just 3 days prior to the trial and the doctor now ordered her to bed rest.
After 5 months she was back at work feeling renewed.
She got the job of being the breaking news reporter-giving up her entertainment position. She would be up against Hunter in court, following his every move and she hopes to gain the information she needs to set him in his place.
Hunter fantasizes about being with her and she just can't help herself with wanting to be loved.
She gets suspended for 3 months and takes off for parts unknown.
He attempts to find her by hounding her boss to no avail. He's going out of his mind with the loss of her.
Things heat up and become steamy when he does find her....

Oh yes old school romance, I do confess to have rolled my eyes once or ten times.

Kari looses her husband and then the DA Hunter Mckee opens a case against some of her husbands associates, and he is also blamed there. She is upset and starts slandering him on tv where she works, he falls in love and will they ever be together...

Ok she the first time they meet he yells at her, while watching how pretty she is and when she leaves he realises that he is in love with her, ok buddy it's called lust. Then one time when she had fainted and opens her blouse and sure spends some time looking at her bra and thinking how pretty she is. This after really going after her in court.

I can't say I liked Hunter, his sudden love for her was a bit, maybe it was the 80's love. And she, well she hates and hates, and then she suddenly loves him.

Also I did spend some time time giggling at the sexscenes too, like when she was thinking that she wanted intercourse. The sex and making out wasn't that hot. But then things to evolve in 20 years.

All in all it was an ok book, and I am blaming some things on the 80's because I have sure read books like this one before.

The book had romance, drama, and one angry couple.

Sandra brown has a formula she writes to. This book is from the 80’s and I knew everything that was going to happen

The heroine acted perfectly normally for a human with normal human emotions. If someone comes after your much idolized dead spouse while you’re carrying his child it’s only natural to be furious and revengeful. Of course it isn’t mature or rational but how often are we that way when we’re drowning in pain and humiliation. Kari’s actions in the first half of the book made perfect sense to me.
What didn’t make sense was how she didn’t use Hunter’s unprofessional behavior against him. He bullied a pregnant grieving widow in the stand. He brought up her husband’s infidelities when they had no bearing on the case at hand. He grabbed her fainting body in a packed courtroom, walked out with her on his own instead of seeking medical personnel and then she woke to this man kissing her while she was unconscious. Me Too movements would have a field day with this guy.

I got about 100 pages in and abandoned this book. It's just not worth finishing. I'm glad Sandra Brown has gotten better in the last 25 years.

Went through a lot of emotions reading this book lol. The plot is fast paced, but enjoyable, can't wait to read more books by Ms Brown.
