Meh. Lame pratfalls, a boring and easy to solve mystery, and not much else to recommend it. If you want a really good mystery picture book with secret codes, read the Eleventh Hour, not this.

CIP: The great detective Seymour Sleuth and his assistant Muggs journey to Egypt to search for a missing stone chicken, an important clue to the Lost Treasure of King Karfu.

Summary: Along the lines of an Encyclopedia Brown book, but in picture book format, this clever story will challenge you to figure out who stole the stone chicken as well as figure out what the missing treasure was. There is also a hieroglyphic code to figure out. Illustrations are colorful and add to the intrigue and fun.

PW says: "Brimming with...fun"
SLJ says: "The animal characters are expressive and engaging."
