Gorgeous illustrations. Excellent way to introduce the science of the water cycle with scenes and activities familiar to children. Homeschool parents will dig it.

A fun and engaging look at the water cycle. Paul also goes through the four seasons with the start and end of the book in Summer.

I love sneaky non-fiction picture books, and this would be a great one for a water themed storytime or STEAM program! A very fun way to talk about the water cycle.

I learned so much from this book, and relearned a great deal that I'd forgotten.  Miranda Paul does a wonderful job explaining the water cycle in detail that's also easy to comprehend, and Jason Chin, as always, does an incredible job illustrating everything--what really stood out to me about his illustrations this time around was how the brother and sister interacted different ways with different sorts of water forms.  It was just really fun to follow as I continued reading.  Altogether, these two make a powerful combo who create a wonderful book!

I love the idea of reading this book aloud with primary students and having them guess what comes next each time!

Cool back matter and wonderful illustrations (as always) by Jason Chin. Great picture book to accompany water cycle lessons that also makes for a good poetry mentor text.

Chin’s artwork is some of my favorite of all picture book illustrators, and in this story of the beauty behind the water cycle, Chin’s illustrations bring Paul’s words to life. I really love the set up of this book. It is a mix of science and poetry. The only way to show you the beauty is to give an example:
” Drip. Sip. Pour me a cup. Water is water unless… it heats up. Whirl. Swirl. Watch it curl by. Steam is steam unless…”
