Cute book! The MC could be a bit annoying at times, but overall a cute read

My daughter thought I should read this book after she finished it. She said she thought I would like it and I did. We're going through puppy stages right now so the training was spot on. I laughed at the puppy antics. The struggle of Annabelle, new girl in her first year in middle school, brought back memories of being a misfit. The story takes place near some of my California haunts so all around a trip back in time from the safety of middle age.

Annabelle and her mother move in to a new house, in a new town with her mom's new boyfriend. Previously Annabelle has gone to an all girls school so she is now in the 6th grade with boys and finds out how unruly they can be.

At the same time, Anabelle gets a puppy and must train him using the manual she got. As time goes on she realizes the same principles that train dogs can also train boys to stop kicking her seat, and other things. It would be a good read for girls who like animals and maybe for girls who are in middle school and wonder why boys can be so animal-like.

I loved this book. It gives you so many tips for so many things. Tips like how to deal with crazy mean boys, how to train puppies and how you should stand up for your self. I love reading books where the kids are set at my age. Again this is a awesome book and can't wait to read girls getting catish I'm pretty shore that's what is called:)

Basically the only think I enjoyed about this book was the title. Boys are dogs. Perfect lesson for preteen girls. Rock on!
