I want Amy Poehler to write my grocery lists - this literally felt like my best friend telling me stories and I could not get enough

It was pretty good. She had some insightful tidbits but as a whole seemed somewhat disjointed. In parts she was heart-breakingly brutal and in others her comedy seemed to fall a bit flat. I listened to it on audiobook, which she narrated for the most part (she had a whole cast of actors come in to help her), and added some more emotion to the words where just reading them may have fallen short of the intended nuance. Not a bad commuter book.

I really like Amy Poehler, but this book was not good. There were good PARTS, but the overall effect is weak. It wasn't funny, which was disappointing. If didn't even feel particularly honest or transparent, except her chapters on motherhood and the two parts that were co-written by her colleagues. For someone who comes across so well on television, I was really disappointed by how unapproachable this book was for me.
