I dislike pigs. Greatly. But even I thought Mercy was adorable

A great prequel to the Mercy Watson books. Cute!

What a cute book! It is the origin story of Mercy Watson. Even if you have not read the early chapter books about Mercy, the pig, you would enjoy this sweet picture book. If you are familiar with Mercy then you will love this book.

Cute book. Laughed at the grumpy old woman.

Seems to be a prequel to a series, which was completely unbeknownst to me. Cute story.

I love Chris Van Dusen. I love Mercy Watson. I love Kate DiCamillo.

Enough said

I think this might have been more poignant if I'd read the series that this is a prequel for! It's still cute, and it paralleled super closely the journey of becoming parents!

It was... fine, I guess? I have nothing against it (and I all-caps love pigs), but it felt like what I didn't realize it was- which is a prequel. If a kiddo really loved the book series, this might be worth checking out- but otherwise, it felt like I was missing something.
