I was in the mood for something short and sexy and Jenika Snow didn’t disappoint me with this one! Shifters who wait for their mate or die alone? SOLD!

I adored Bethany and Zakari. He was so damn OTT and possessive I loved him instantly. Poor Bethany didn’t know what hit her. This short story packed heat and gave me a HEA in less than 70 pages. I already have the next book on my kindle because after that snippet from Maddix.

Short and sweet
I liked it. Short and sweet with some nice erotic scenes. I loved how there are six brothers living on the same land, but halve their own borders. It was short, but at the same time very sweet. The kind of book I would read if I was in need of some fluff after hard angst. <3

Feral, Possession Driven, & Oh So Yummy...
In true Jenika Snow fashion, “The BEARly Controlled Grizzly” is a luscious example of her over-the-top, growly alpha infused storytelling. This, is book one of her six book installment, Bear Clan Series. A yummy, possessive filled adventure as only Snow can tell it about six bear shifter brothers, Zakari, Cason, Asher, Damon, Oli, and Maddix, gruff and rumbly mountain men, living together on a compound high in the Colorado Rockies. All who are impatiently waiting for their fated mates. This first book focuses on oldest brother Zakary, an excessively possessive, alpha grizzly shifter and his chance meeting and pursuit of his human mate, Bethany, a twenty-something girl in town to care for her ailing grandmother.
It is a quick, super-sexy, obsessively driven, insta-love story deliciously dripping with an overabundance of testosterone. And it is an indulgently filthy way to pass an hour or so…
And don’t you DARE roll your eyes! Yes this tale is far-fetched and fanciful. And not intended for the vanilla, chick-lit loving romance readers. Oh no, this book is for the bad boy loving, “let’s go find the sexy stalker in the dark” inclined female. The ones like me who enjoy some pure, alpha-male, level of mine-ness, and of course us paranormal loving females with a gigantic soft spot for the strong, larger-than-life, unbending and feral shifter men.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a million more times, Jenika Snow is the queen of the primal, possession driven, alpha mate! Her stories never disappoint and this one will most certainly more than satisfy that secret part of you, no matter how tiny, that desires a cave man to come and throw you over his shoulder and make you his. ;)

This is a book that allows you to read the whole thing in a very short period of time, which means that there's not a lot of time to build in an overly deep storyline. The author gets around that by setting the story in a world where everyone knows of shifters & by what it means when a shifter meets his mate. I found this a very clever way of getting all of that out of the way to allow the story to focus on Zakari & Bethany. It may not work for everyone, but I found it a really great way of building the story quickly. This was a fantastic quick read with 2 wonderful characters.

Petite nouvelle avec des shifters ours qui commençait plutôt bien : bien écrit, une héroïne qui avait l'air intéressante, un héros un peu trop dominant et obsédé par son âme sœur mais il y avait moyen de faire quelque chose d'intéressant ...
SAUF QUE
Les héros se rencontrent et là c'est le drame :
- instalove non pardon instalust mais comme on n'en a jamais vu !! L'héroïne l'a à peine aperçu et ELLE N'EN PEUT PLUS !! (le héros aussi d'ailleurs mais bon lui ce n'est pas une surprise vu qu'il attendait de pouvoir s'envoyer en l'air avec elle depuis toujours ><)
- AUCUNE intrigue, rien nada, aucune profondeur :
- l'immense scène de sexe qui était bien écrite ... Mais avec des passages qui m'ont gêné : le commentaire "Pure Fresh Fertile" (J'avais l'impression d'être dans une pub pour du déo ou de l'engrais xD), le léchage d'anus (est-ce que j'ai besoin d'en dire plus ??) et le fait qu'elle soit vierge et que le marathon de sexe ne la dérange absolument pas ><
- le commentaire "the virgin bear shifter" à la fin ... Hilarant xD
Bref, c'est dommage parce qu'il y aurait eu moyen de créer un univers et c'était plutôt bien écrit mais pour moi c'est une fanfiction Porn Without Plot ><

EXCEPT THAT
Heroes meet and here is the beginning of the end :
- instalove no sorry instalust but as we have never seen before !! The heroine has barely noticed him and she's hot and wet and hot !! (the hero too but hey it's not a surprise since he was waiting to get laid with her since always ><)
- NO plot, nothing, nada, no depth:
- the huge sex scene that was well written ... But with passages that disturbed me : the commentary "Pure Fresh Fertile" (I felt like I was in an ad for some deodorant or fertilizer xD), licking anus (do I need to say more ??) and the fact that she is a virgin and that the marathon sex doesn't bother her at all ><
- the comment "the virgin bear shifter" at the end ... Hilarious xD
In short, it's a shame because there was a way to create a great universe and it was pretty well written but for me it's a fanfiction Porn Without Plot ><

And she is pregnant (with a guy she hardly knows, but she thinks it's great and her family too ...) ... And they have children ...
