Definitely not as good as the first book. A whole lot of nothing happens & I’m not sure why it was written. The suspense was still done well and it was nice to return to the Jurassic Universe. You really didn’t care much about the characters though so the stakes seemed lover than the first book.

I love Michael Crichton. Jurassic Park and The Lost World are two of my favorites. They are a perfect blend of science fiction, action, and adventure and his characters are well fleshed out. Some of them are so maddening I could scream - not terrible people per se, but so arrogant and self important and somehow also stupid - but I work with a few guys like that, as do we all, and to me it makes it even more realistic. For novels about dinosaurs, that is.
