Two toddlers take some time on the beach to explore, make mistakes, and learn some lessons.

The illustrations in this book are adorable. Done in colored pencil and watercolor (to the best of my little art knowledge), Patricia Barton has given these two little toddlers great personality. The illustrations tell so much of the story, with the words being merely and accent to the action. Anyone who has had dealings with toddlers can relate to the constant stream of "uh-oh"s. This really would be a great addition to a library specifically for storytimes. Even though the story is, as previously mentioned, nearly wordless, it is a good way to start talking through illustrations and having children tell the story and make predictions about what will happen next.

Don't think this would be good for storytime, but a kid that says ut-oh a lot might like it.

In Uh-Oh! readers will find a beachy adventure with little text other than the intermittent 'uh-oh!' This fantastically illustrated adventure will delight even the littlest readers, who will love mimicking 'uh-oh' and will surely recognize sandcastles, slides, and more from fun-filled days at the beach.

This nearly-wordless picture book is exactly what any toddler needs to "read." It's all about the exciting things that happen at the beach - so many reasons to say, "Uh-oh!" The illustrations are especially wonderful.
