This second book was not nearly as good as the first. I felt disconnected from the story and the characters which was odd because I really enjoyed the first book. I think that it also focused more on characters that I didn't like. I was bored and found myself just wishing it was over. I read the first one in order to see the movie and I dont think that I will read the third one.

I was sick and had no internet for days and this was the only book I saved on my phone so I picked it up. This is my least favorite book among the three, I can already foresee it. Funny how the stereotype mothers, the asshole Michael, and Astrid are the only people I think who aren't as predictable and two-dimensional? I also feel as if it's so easy for this story to drop off and pick up characters whenever convenient but in a very uneasy pace — hello Rachel's mom? Colin? Nick's Dad? Etc. I still don't get a clear reading of Rachel, she's very Mary Sue, and Nick, the male Mary Sue — they're perfect for each other.

Page Turner

I wasn’t expecting the storyline to be as extreme as it was in this book. Another well-written page turner by Kwan, with a lot of relatable, entertaining and extreme moments. I can’t wait to read Book 3.
