Ahhh this book. It took me a year to finally sit down and finish this one, but I'm glad I did :)
Unlike the first two books, this one isn't based on a specific fairy tale, but instead is based on the common "fairy/king/queen gives impossible quest" plot. Cat, as usual, solves the quest in her own oddball way.
One of my favorite parts of this book was writing more scenes with just Jake and Cat. Both of them haven't forgotten their childhood friendship, and both of them have very different ideas about how their relationship with each other will look in the future (no spoilers ha).
This book also introduces my new fave character, who DOES COME BACK in book 4, I PROMISE. You'll know 'em when you meet 'em hahahah
