Great little story

It was short, almost sweet if you forget the bloody mafia bits, but to the point. A little less spicy than what I was used to with this author, but very good and entertaining nonetheless.

This story is part of a series where all the major characters get there own book and HEA. BUT, I have been looking for Silent Nite, the last book (6th) that should have come out long ago, and I am very disappointed to say that I don’t think it was written… i can’t believe that it’s been promoted for so long and it didn’t come out after the last book of the series in 2022. After 5 books in this series, I was getting attached to does characters and feel abandoned in the end…
I’m a sucker for reading series and when it’s left with no ending

This book had me gripped from the very first chapter and the characters are fantastic. Luca and Haven are high school sweethearts but Luca has to leave Haven to deal with a family matter and doesn't return, leaving Haven heartbroken. Haven then begins to hate Luca for leaving her and when he returns and buys her from her father she is enraged. They have a difficult time and Luca says and does things that infuriates Haven.
As well as having to deal with Haven Luca also has to deal with Alberto Rossi, the head of a rival mafia family, who wants him dead.

This story is fast paced, action packed and steamy. Shantel has definitely written a winner and I can't wait for the next book.

I liked this book, I found the story progressed really well and the plot was interesting and not too predictable. I liked the FMC and MMC, and the lovers to enemies to lovers hit all the right notes.

I only gave it a four stars because the parentage bit was unnecessarily convoluted, and honestly the book wasn’t spicy enough. The scenes that were there were good, but for a dark romance I expect a few more

Started this series after reading the Lords and so far this one did not disappoint! A bit more mild/tame then I am used to from Shantel but still loved it! Plenty going on to keep you hooked. I was actually sad when it ended because I wanted more from everyone. There is a lot going on so you do have to pay attention to the story line. Devoured in 2 days and onto the next one. Dark mafia romance with plot and great intro to the other characters in the series. Instantly made me want to know more about everyone in the series.
