This book is a little different than Jane's other books because instead of being about her life or her thoughts this one is a cookbook. Throughout the book are little paragraphs about Jane's food philosophy, which of course is eating #meatless.

If you've read her [b:Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating|101098|Harvest for Hope A Guide to Mindful Eating|Jane Goodall|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1442629052l/101098._SY75_.jpg|1617845] she discusses her food & farming philosophies in much further detail where this one only touches on it.

The focus of this book are the 75 meatless meals. While it may be inspired by Jane's dishes I'm 98.5% sure this was the Jane Goodall Institute's doing and not Jane's actual cooking recipes. I didn't pay close enough attention to say this with 100% certainty but I believe all of the meals are vegan - and if they aren't they can easily be made to be: no mention of eggs/cheese that I remember.

The recipes in this book are very unique - combining flavors I wouldn't think to blend and you can tell they have a worldly influence. I haven't tried cooking any of them yet but they seem like they would taste very ~earthy~. There are some lovely food pictures throughout but not every recipe has a photo.

All in all, a great addition to my cookbook shelf.
