Betrayed is the second book in the House of Night series and takes off where Marked ended. Zoey is now the leader of the new Dark Daughters and she's determined to make it a better society. She finally feels she fits in at the House of Night, until there are teenagers disappearing. Everything points to the House of Night and Zoey has to find out what is happening before it gets even more out of hand.

Let me start off by saying that I think Marked had a better plot, and that I think Betrayed was less engaging as the first book. However, it was a great, quick and easy read and I enjoyed myself very much, but I have to get it out there that this book was not as good as the first one.

There were some strong scenes in the book though, dat impressed me. I really liked the whole scene of Zoey's first Full Moon Ritual, and yes, I also liked the whole scene of what happened with Stevie Rae. I thought it was beautifully written and I think that this was the strongest scene of the whole book. I liked what they figured out with the plot and the reference to what Nyx said to Zoey when she hit her head in Marked though. I think the betrayal can be something really good in the next books and I'm looking forward to reading what the authors of the series will do with it.

I can't help but thinking that House of Night is like the Hogwarts for vampyres and there were some elements that I recognized from Twilight, too, even if it was only from the name. I do, however, still like the series and I guess I will have to order myself the last four books as well, so I can fully catch up with the series - I'm kinda late to the party.

Four stars for Betrayed - but only because I upped the amount of stars. I don't do half stars, but this one would have gotten 3,5 stars from me if I had. I liked it, but I hope that Chosen will be up to the same level of enjoyment I had while reading Marked.

pretty good for being a second book. it still has all the suspences and anything from the first novel. my heart broke for Zoey as she goes thur the trivals of the high priestess, especially having her choosing between health and Erik.

I think this book is well written. I am too anxious to continue it. I might pick it up in the future.

Despite what most people have said about this series, I am enjoying it quite a bit.

Vampyre Fledging Zoey Redbird has just gotten settled down in her new home, The House of Night. She's barely getting adjusted to sleeping during the day and awaking at night, and she's also barely getting used to her new incredible powers the goddess has blessed her with. Now human kids are going missing near the House of Night and everyone is beginning to think it's the vampyre's doing. Zoey is going through several problems (one includes balancing three relationships) and when Zoey needs her friends the most an unexpected death strikes the house of night.

In the 'Betrayed' we are introduced to several new character's that we grow to either love or hate. The story began very slow paced but once I was passed 1/3 of the book I began to get sucked in by the books unexpected twists. I got to the point where I got so sucked in that I began to almost feel what the character's felt. The author's do an amazing job at describing things detail by detail. I took of one star off because of the slow beginning but other than that this story was a very fun, entertaining, thrilling, sexy, and sometimes comedic story. Because of some sexual content and a few curse words I set the rating for this book a 15 and over. Recommended to those whole love YA books and vampires!

Rereading for the first time in a decade. Absolutely love this series. Demoted to 4 stars since I thought the writing was repetitive in saying the same thing over and over again. Excited to reread book 3 - Chosen.

This is the second time I’ve read this book now. The first time was in high school and I still love it now as much as I did before.
It still manages to take me on the emotional rollercoaster it creates within the pages.
