5 stars. Whew, if I could just be transported into this series that would be great. Black Queer women everywhere. I'm so here for it. This one was my second favorite in the series. The drama was realistic and I loved the characters. Leilani is an author, Noel is a librarian and their relationship is super sexy and filled with mess but it was nice seeing these two work on themselves, let go of past hurts and finally come together. I loved it. The sex scenes were fire and there was a lot of emotions in this. Is the writing all that great? No, it needed an editor but the story and characters were so great that I'm more than willing to look pass that.

Good chemistry and good pacing

I enjoyed this book! I liked the main characters  Leilani and Noel. They MCs had really nice chemistry. I liked that the pacing was pretty balanced and even despite the book being less than 200 pages.  I usually find that short books move too quickly and start to rush towards the end but Ava Freeman kept the pacing even. Also liked that each character had their own set of problems that they needed to deal with outside of the relationship and even the subplots were paced nicely. Idk I has just liked this book and it’s probably going to become a favorite of mine. I saw a couple of reviews complaining about grammatical errors and but I think those people need to get over bc it’s not that distracting. You know what the author means. Anyways, you should read this book! It’s nice 👍🏾

This was such a disappointment in terms of editing! I can't believe it. I loved every other book in this series and the editing was always done so well. This one has so many grammatical mistakes, misspellings, and the actual misuse of character names that I had to deduct from what would have been a five star read. Do you want to talk about disappointment?!? Outside of that, the story had potential to be amazing.

This book centers around two woman, Leilani and Noel. Leilani is a famous mystery writer and Noel is a librarian. When they encounter each other through a writing grant at the library, they have an instantaneous attraction. Unfortunately, Leilani is a player and isn't interested in a committed relationship while Noel is wanting to begin seriously dating again after a bad breakup with an ex-boyfriend. The two decide to be friends with benefits while casually dating. Of course, so much more ends up happening. I think that I loved the ease of the relationship between the two characters. They felt like they were meant to be together. This novel also touches a little bit on Noel exploring her sexuality and becoming aware of the fact that she is possibly bisexual. There were also conversations about coming out to family members and familial expectations that I loved. This easily would have been my favorite out of the series because there was so much character development and tough topics that were discussed. We truly had the opportunity to watch these two women slowly fall in love with each other PLUS it was a romance with a librarian!! Of course I was going to enjoy that. Each one of them had to spend time confronting what things have happened in their past that made them hesitant about being in a relationship with each other. I really loved this book, but the editing took me out of the story way too much and I couldn't rightfully give it five stars. I just can't get past my disappointment.
