El libro parece más de lo que realmente es porque es un papel de muchísimo gramaje. A parte de eso, el final me parece algo abrupto, te esperas que desarrolle algo más la historia, aún así es una edición preciosa.

I had forgotten how much I loved comics / graphic novels. Then I read this.

The artwork is just gorgeous. The story is beautiful, the feelings so nicely put into images and words. I love how the characters seem to dance on the pages, the flow of the composition is spot on.

Only downside? It's just too short!

Much like others, I contributed to Picolo’s campaign on Indiegogo and was taken with all the sneak peaks of the artwork. I was so excited to finally see his interpretation of this mythical story of Icarus.

While the artwork was beautiful, and Picolo has a way of expressing great emotions in a single panel, the story itself fell flat. The story opens on Icarus in therapy, telling the story of meeting the dazzling Sun, and the rise and fall of their relationship. At first, I admit, in the first few pages, I was confused whether the story was all metaphorical or if this was set in a mythical world where the Sun and Moon (and others) exist as actual people, but then realized it was just the way he decided to see/analyze this relationship. I’ve seen one too many tv episodes/movies that start in therapy and work backward, so I was a bit sad that trope was used.

The story touches on mental health issues, a somewhat toxic relationship and the idea of a manic pixie dream girl, but it feels like we only got a quarter of the story. It felt surface level, like he was pitching the story and a few details, and not actually writing the doomed love story of the boy with wings made of feather and wax, flying too close to the Sun. There were moments I appreciated — like Icarus naming his plants after his fears and issues — that I wish he had spent more time on. I just wish there was more of, well, everything.

(Also — On a purely physical level, the pages are super glossy and thick and I’m afraid they might accidentally bend and never return to normal.)

The art was amazing but the storyline was…iffy. It felt rushed and didn’t really make sense at times. This book could be amazing if it was longer and more developed. This book was enjoyable but not amazing

I have been looking forward to this graphic novel for so long! The art is fantastic, and I love the back and forth between the present and the past of Icarus's recount of he and the Sun's relationship. I wish it went a little deeper with the chemistry of their developing relationship. I just want more!
