The illustration is beautiful. The messages the author want to convey are good: how beautiful it is your curly hair, yet the lack of sentences makes it hard for children to understand.

Curls is beautifully illustrated and informative! I loved the representation of different hair types and how to care for them. Curls is a joyful book that delivers an ode to African American girls and the beauty of their curls! This book stars four playful who celebrate their hairstyles from bouncing curls to swinging braids.
