Avoid the audiobook. The narrator is so bad, it was disturbing.

In some ways this book was unabashedly feminist. The heroine's comments on ageing and on society's relationship with female sexuality were a joy to read. The characters were two flawed but sweet individuals who made some mistakes but who were also ultimately trying their best. I'm sad that Victoria Dahl is no longer writing romance.

I am ambivalent about Victoria Dahl- sometimes I love her books, and other times I’m disappointed. The disappointment is even more bitter as she is a pro-sex, feminist writer for whom I have high expectations. Flirting with Disaster hit all the right notes– interesting, complex characters, a believable conflict, and most importantly, hot and lovely romance.

An enjoyable twist on a plot I've seen done poorly in the past. Dahl might be a new favorite. I loved the ages of the protagonists, their overall maturity, and even the thing that keeps them apart toward the end (I've read too many similar plots that handled that poorly.)

“I don’t have anything to hide, Marshal.”
Damned if she didn’t lie almost as well as she kissed.

I can always count on Victoria Dahl for a steamy, emotionally driven romance with an extra side of naughty. And Flirting with Disaster has what might prove to be one of my favorite sassy heroines ever.

The Jackson: Girls’ Night Out series has been amazingly entertaining so far. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the other gals, Lauren and Sophie, while they’ve found their soulmates. I will let you know that you can feel free to read these books independently and they will still make complete sense. But I would highly recommend checking them all out as they are just that much fun.

I love Victoria Dahl's books. Her writing is hot and hilarious! I am always laughing at the things she has her characters say and do. This book has artist Isabelle West living in the woods of Jackson, Wyoming. When Marshall Tom Duncan comes knocking on her door, she believes that he is looking for her. Tom senses that Isabelle is hiding something. He is on a job protecting a judge, but there is something about Isabelle that he is attracted to. Will he discover her secret? You will not be disappointed in this or any of Dahl's books!

I actually read this series backwards, with the newest book first. So when I got to this book I had a basic understanding of what was about to happen. First off, I love how Ms. Dahl has made Jackson Hole a character. When I read her books I feel the dust on the floor of the saloon and the smell of horses and clean sweat on ranchers as they grab a beer after work. I love the way the crunch of snow feels under my feet. This place has become as real to me as the people's lives I am reading and I've fallen in love with it. And I have never been anywhere near there.

Now, Isabelle...she is a live wire and I love how she knows her own mind, what she wants, and she doesn't apologize for that. When Tom comes into her life they click and they both realize it. Finally the path is fraught with real life emotions and fictional external circumstances but the story is clear. I adore these two together and I'll forever be in love with Jackson Hole.
