I recently visited St. John and so when I saw that this book takes place in St. John I figured I'd give it a listen even though it didn't seem like my usual kind of read. I'm glad I gave it a chance because I ended up really enjoying this book. I loved all the characters except for Baler and Ayers. Baker really really f**king pisses me off and I really wish he wasn't in the book at all.
I hate the insta-love between Baker and Ayers, but other than those two I enjoyed what the other characters got up to.

At first this book was confusing with so many POV and timeline changes but once I got the hang of those, I got more into it. It was slow at first which made me think I wasn’t going to like it but overall I ended up enjoying it and I’m actually interested to see where the series goes with the small cliffhanger it ended with. Not my favorite Elin Hilderbrand book I’ve read so far but still a decently good one. It wasn’t what I expected based on the cover or title.

Elin Hilderbrand reminds me of Diane Chamberlain in that you're never quite sure what genre you're going to get when you open a book. This book was dramatic with just the right amount of love in it, and while I don't normally care for a cliffhanger ending, Hilderbrand had me pulled in deep enough that when it came, I was immediately online trying to figure out if the sequel was out already. I think Hilderbrand is an author I'll be adding to my list of authors to pick up when I come across her.

It was ok.
Would have stopped reading from the bit on the first page about how ~Irene doesn’t need to do a new years diet bc she’s always been slim~~ but gave it a chance. Thankfully that was the only diet culture bs I noticed in the book.
Found most of the characters annoying tbh
Won’t be finishing the series.
