The final chapter in the curse keepers trilogy really came full circle for me. Usually by the time I’m getting to the end of a series I know what I want to happen but in this case I honestly didn’t. Swank keeps you on your toes and guessing the whole time. I loved this series more than I anticipated since fantasy isn’t my normal genre so even if you have never read it before I would give this a try! My only criticism was the ending, it’s not a cliffhanger but I still feel like it doesn’t really end. I’m onto the piper Lancaster series (a spin off) though so maybe that will change my mind about the ending!

I held my breath through lots of this book! It was definitely a book I couldn't put down until I reached the end. As Ellie tries to figure out how to deal with the gods, how to cope with her returning memories of her mothers death and what to do about Collin this book keeps the reader on her toes wondering what will happen next. There were several surprising twists in this story!

To said that I'm (im)patiently waiting for The Curse Defiers is understatement of the year. I really want to read The Curse Defiers, because I really love the second book, The Curse Breakers which I think is a game changer. I'm wondering why no e-ARC available on NetGalley while so many reviews for this books already available on Goodreads here. Ah, well, I can wait, that what I thought. And, when on Friday I got email that I have been invited to request e-galley of The Curse Defiers, I'm squealed in delight! Add it with my hubby not at home, so I have an undisturbed day to read this preciouuuuusss...

Riiight...I sound like Gollum here :v

I read The Curse Defiers in one sitting and..what a emotional roller coaster read! I want to shake and shout to Ms Swank, to be easy to Ellie. She already through too much, both physically and emotionally. I feel so sorry to this girl, she deserved happines! And, even she already find hers in the form of her love David Preston, David still question her feeling because Ellie's soul tied to Collin Dailey because they are both Curse Keepers. What a mess! But a good and well written mess. Ellie will lost a people that she hold dear. And a fact that I'm right when I guess who will die make me so sad

Are you team Collin or Team David? TBH, I'm not fans of love triangle, but again, Ms Swank handle this problem with care and really smooth. You will get David, but Collin also play important part too. I can said that both men are important to Ellie, whether as lover or partner. You will get annoyed by David and you will sympathize to Collin.

Ms Swank's writing is superb like usual. The mystery about Ricardo estate and the truth behind Ellie's Mom murder already killing me. Make me can't stop reading and running through the mystery maze that Ms Swank created. Alas, the conclusion, imho, a little bit rushed for my taste. It's like I thread into the tangled of web, and meet another web that need some explanation, again. Also some hint, not all the question answered.

What do you said Ren? But, but, this is the conclusion of the trilogy right?

Yeah, I can said that, but you can check Ms Swank web to get the hint, lol!

Denise Grover Swank proved herself that she is a UF authors that can't be missed. The Curse Keepers series is..indeed a keeper, and if you proclaimed yourself as UF and PNR lovers, your collection is not complete without The Curse Keepers series!

I really, really did love this book a lot. It gave me hope again after the second book. I love Ellie and Collin as always, though I think I am becoming a little tired of David. I do see his purpose though, I just wish there wasn't so much, 'oh, I love you, but your soul is bound to Collin' crap. There was too much sex in the middle of the book for my tastes, but the story line was good enough for me to overlook that. This is one of those books that leaves me wanting more!

The best one of the series...

I have to admit, The Curse Keepers Series isn't really my favorite genre of reading. I actually started the series just because of how much I LOVE DGS and her writing style. I thought the other books in this series were 'okay', they just weren't for me. I am so glad I stuck it out and read them all. This book made me fall in love with the series and the story-line.

Ellie has discovered that she has been played for a fool. The gods see her as nothing more than a mere pawn in their games. Struggling to figure out who she can trust and who she can't, she continues on her journey to get rid of the demons that surround her and cause terror once and for all.

The series itself is great. I learned to love it. I really did. Book two was my favorite overall. However, I'm very upset with the ending. I will not go into details because I do not believe in spoiling books for others, but yeah. Cliffhangers are okay. Really. They are. I've never been one to hate them. They draw attention to the next book. If there is no next book, there should be no cliffhanger! It's really that simple.

This book wasn't really as good as the second one. It was still better than the first one though. I've already pointed out my biggest flaw with this book and I don't want to be redundant. There were places that kind of drug on and places that I felt needed more detail. Either way, I adored it until the end.

The transformation and growth of two of the main characters are amazing! I absolutely loved it. I can't say I really cared for certain character's attitude changed. And I predicted something about one of the characters right off. Either way, it was nice to see Ellie focused and determined. She shows a lot of remorse and self-blame, but that's to be expected with what she has gone through. At least she's not the bratty self-absorbed person she was in the first two.

Because of the ending, I had to knock my rating of this book down to three out of five stars. I was very disappointed in how it ended in a big way. I have many questions. I just don't get how anybody would end a series on a cliffhanger. I still recommend it, but I think anybody who hates cliffhangers as much as I should consider passing on it.

Ellie, the main character, has certainly come a long way with me. In the first book, she frustrated me with her naivety and ignorance. By the end of this book she is one to be proud of. Strong-willed, independent and has lost her ignorance is bliss attitude.

This book is more violent than the last books in the series. Ellie, David and Collin need to step up to the plate to survive. New twists are thrown at the reader. Sides are taken but which side is good. Or, for that matter, less evil? Ahone, Okeaus and other spirits have all made their moves and so far our human heroes have just been pawns. But in this last installment, it is their turn to make the moves.

Claire's character becomes more vital in this one and lives will be lost. Each of our main characters will experience loss. And Ellie still has some major decisions about where she stands with both men.

Most questions are answered but the ending is a bit open-ended for my taste. Still, I am reasonably satisfied. This book is by far my favorite of the series. From disgust and anger, to heartbreak to cheering on Ellie and the team, this book left me feeling very involved which I love in a book.
