This was a sweet story. However, the topic of bullying those with special needs can be triggering so be warned. I liked the sisterly bonds that were written here. I would have loved to see more inclusion of the parents and not just what happens at the end. But it was a good story and I felt would give younger audiences a look at the minds of those who experience the world differently.

Wow just wow! This is a great book that needs to be in classrooms and libraries everywhere. We need more books like this.

Shocking, moving, eye-opening. Another book giving insight into what it’s like to be someone very different from me. There’s a lot of chat about empathy at the moment and this book is really good at helping to show what it’s like to be autistic. Addie is a wonderful character, swinging from being unable to find words at all in some immensely stressful situations to beautiful eloquence about the things that matter to her.
Everyone should read this to be reminded that difference is good, and we must never reject those who are not the same as us.
As for Miss Murphy… I just don’t have words for anyone who can behave like that!
