A rooster moves to a new country and reports for his job ... but no one understands him. Before he leaves, he cooks up a smashing breakfast which awakens the neighbors. Everyone knows a good meal when they smell it or taste it!

This is one of those books where the illustrations appeal more to the adults reading it than the kids. Great story, but the illustrations didn't engage the kids I read it to.

Cute idea, but I wondered why the sun didn't seem to come up. Although it doesn't specify it, I also wonder how the rooster felt about serving eggs. Is that sort of cannibalistic?

The art is engaging but this one definitely went over the heads of my toddler-Preschool storytime

fun wordplay, includes multiple other languages--could be a good pairing with The Rooster who Would Not be Quiet! by Carmen Agra Deedy
