Gay writes with beauty and such humanity. The thesis of this book, even ignoring its excellent execution, is such a valuable and important idea: we all of us should practice the art of being receptive to joy and delight.

This was such a lovely little trinket of a book to pick up and read a few delights at a time throughout the day/month. Now that I've read them all, it will maintain a spot near the bed so I can flip through upon waking or resting. It's also a delightful social commentary on who is most easily able to access daily comforts, who is persecuted for their delight.

Highly recommend reading the audiobook written by the author. It itself is quite a delight!
